Russia’s top anti-drugs official has revealed that more than 80 people in the country die every day from drug use and has warned that the number of addicts is surging.
Viktor Ivanov, the head of the Federal Drug Control Agency, has said the increase in the number of addicts in Russia is starting to indicate an epidemic.

Clayton County voted Tuesday against backing a bond for the county’s only hospital, leaving hospital officials to look at other options, including federal aid, layoffs or — if there’s no solution — closing.

Ellendale A crash that had roadways closed for three hours early this morning on South Union Church Road and killed a 40 year-old woman may have been caused by an impaired driver, police said.
Laura Rosario, 40, of Ellendale, passenger in the wreck, was pronounced dead at the scene close to 4:30 a.m.

Alan Stiles, the former publisher of Men's Fitness and Esquire magazines, has died after being struck by a commuter train. He was54.
Stiles parked his Hyundai Veracruz along the Massachusetts Turnpike then apparently walked into the path of the oncoming train after it left Boston's South Station last Friday.
