Ark. Court: New hospital liability law retroactive

Charitable hospitals with self-insurance plans can be sued for incidents that occurred before their pooled liability funds were established, the Arkansas Supreme Court said.
Thursday’s decision comes as a blow to not-for-profit hospitals like St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center in Hot Springs, protected as a charity for more than a century under Arkansas law. The 2007 law put self-insurance and pooled liability funds on the hook for damages once avoided Read the rest of this entry »

Throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s we had “aerobics”. One word for one thing, high impact, freestyle aerobic dance ala Jane Fonda. I hate to admit it, but I was there! I started teaching in the early 1980’s. It was all high impact and as an instructor, we taught “freestyle”. We had our little group of moves, but we just made it up as we went along. WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack believes a single U.S. agency should be created and put in charge of the food safety work now handled by a variety of agencies, said a spokesman on Friday.
