LA County rehired convicted rapist after firing him

The Times reported Saturday that Beasley — whose name became public when he appealed his initial termination — was hired by county officials a decade ago despite disclosing his convictions for rape.

Family History of Melanoma Doubles Parkinson's Risk

MONDAY, Feb. 16 (HealthDay News) — People with a family history of melanoma are twice as likely to develop Parkinson’s disease, a new study finds.
While the reasons for this association are not clear, other studies have shown that people with Parkinson’s diseases are at greater risk for developing melanoma.

Executive pledges $100M to hospital for AIDS research

Spectrum says FDA extends review date of cancer drug

experimental cancer drug, Zevalin, to July 2.
The decision by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration comes
after the regulator received a major amendment to the
Supplemental Biologics License Application for use of Zevalin

Frail Great Train Robber Biggs in hospital

LONDON (AFP) — Ronnie Biggs, Britain’s notorious Great Train Robber, is in hospital with pneumonia, his son told AFP on Saturday.
The 79-year-old has been taken from prison to a nearby hospital in Norwich, eastern England, Michael Biggs said, adding that his father’s health was poor.
