Google, IBM team to take health records from PDA to e-health database

Michael Bernardo was a third-year student at Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine when he died in an automobile accident in the Dominican Republic last month. He was 26.

USFDA Finds 'Natural' Diet Pills Spiked With Drugs

If a weight-loss supplement does contain an undeclared active
pharmaceutical, the F.D.A. considers the product to be an illegal,
unapproved drug. Doctors said undeclared drugs could cause problems on

Insmed selling Boulder facility to Merck

for $130 million, the company announced Thursday.
The transaction, once it’s completed, will transfer Richmond, Va.-based Insmed’s research and production facility in Boulder to Merck. The Boulder plant’s 80 employees will be offered jobs to continue their work under Merck’s ownership, Insmed said.
Insmed geared its Boulder plant over the past 18 months to produce alternate versions of established biotech drugs.

Scientists May Have New Way to Fight the Flu

Revenue in the men’s health division barely budged, growing 0.8 percent to $89 million, partly because of slowing growth of erectile restoration (penile prosthesis) products.
