Md. health care advocates unveil universal plan

A Maryland universal health care proposal was unveiled by coalition of citizen and business groups, calling for a statewide insurance pool and a requirement for all residents to buy health insurance.

Advocates decry legislative plan to cut some mental health funds

Cuts to funding for mental health programs won’t save the state money, advocates said Thursday, arguing it will lead to higher spending elsewhere.
