RICHVILLE, Mich. – A
woman wasn’t about to let a
little thing like childbirth stop her from voting.
The Bay City Times reports 25-year-old Andrea J. Maczik went
into labor Tuesday morning. By the time the Richville woman arrived
at Covenant HealthCare’s Harrison Campus in Saginaw, she decided
that she was going to cast her ballot anyway.

FDA cites Bayer for misleading birth control ads

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Two television commercials for Bayer AG’s birth control pill Yaz give a misleading impression of its benefits, U.S. health regulators warned the company in a letter released on Tuesday.
The ads wrongly suggest the pills are approved for relieving premenstrual syndrome, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said in a letter dated October 3. The ads also minimize the drug’s risks, the agency said.

Cost among factors in choosing home birth

If Samara Hines had health insurance, she’d deliver her baby in a hospital, away from the demands of her five other children and with help from nurses for the new little one.

Tarzana Hospital Stops Birth Control Procedures

TARZANA– Tarzana Medical will no longer be able to perform elective procedures that prevent future pregnancies. After buying the hospital in September, Providence Health System has implemented a policy that adheres to Catholic teachings that prohibit abortions and surgical methods of birth control on hospital property, according to reports.
