OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A 17-year-old boy left by his mother at an Omaha hospital on Monday is the 30th child abandoned under Nebraska’s safe-haven law, state officials said. Citing a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision, a federal judge in St. Paul on Monday dismissed dozens of lawsuits filed by patients who claimed they were injured by a heart device made by Medtronic Inc.

The children of a woman who was arrested Friday when marijuana was found in her Fort Myers home had been removed from her care before because of drugs.
