LONG BRANCH — The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey has awarded over $2 million in grants to hospitals throughout the state, including the Monmouth Family Health Center in Long Branch.
The funds were awarded as part of the foundation’s $5 million, five-year grant initiative created to expand access to health care for thousands of uninsured and underinsured individuals throughout New Jersey, according to a press release from Horizon.

A murder inquiry is continuing after a 17-year-old youth died after an “unprovoked attack” in a city centre.
He suffered serious head injuries in the assault in St Mary Street, Cardiff at around 1840 GMT on Friday.
The teenager was walking with a 21-year-old friend when he became involved in an altercation. He died in hospital the following day from head injuries.

A 36-year-old Sheboygan woman was charged Thursday for allegedly driving with drugs in her system and in her car.

BALTIMORE – The Baltimore City Health Department has issued a flu alert for across the region.
Health Department Commissioner Dr. Joshua Sharfstein said the city has seen an increase in patients testing positive for influenza in the last two weeks, including at Sinai Hospital.
“Probably for the next two months we’ll continue to see the flu. We’ve been seeing it since November. So yeah, we see a lot,” said Sinai Hospital nurse Jere Waddy.

A mentally disabled Redwood City man who was reported missing Dec. 21 has turned up safe at Valley Medical Center in San Jose, police reported Tuesday.
