OXNARD, Calif.—Authorities say two men whose boat capsized off the coast of Oxnard have died.
Mike Tellez of the Ventura County coroner’s office says 59-year-old Wen Xiang Lu of El Monte and Shao Shun Peng of Arcadia were pronounced dead Tuesday at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard after they were pulled from the water by rescue crews.

State emergency officials have made a decision to evacuate some hospital patients in need of constant care from areas along the Texas coast, according to Dallas emergency officials.
Plans remain preliminary, and it is not clear how many patients will evacuate, though the number could be in thousands. It also isn’t known exactly where those evacuees will come from or where they will go.

The U.S. Coast Guard medically evacuated a 45-year-old male from the Canadian Coast Guard Cutter Griffon at approximately 8:20 p.m. due to lower back pain Saturday.

U.S. Coast Guard officials have ended their search this morning for a missing fisherman whose boat sank off the coast of Ano Nuevo Point in San Mateo County on Saturday afternoon, Lt. j.g. Simone Mausz said.

PANAMA CITY – An EC-135 helicopter slowly circled by Gulf Coast Medical Center and over Jenks Avenue Tuesday afternoon, before descending just east of the Panama City hospital and landing on a fenced off, 30-by-30-foot concrete section.
It’s a sight that will become more common for motorists and visitors, as the hospital uses a new tool in its efforts to provide swift emergency medical services and cut down on response time in rural areas.
