Medical examiner seraching for direct link between three Curry

Health investigators probing three Curry County cases involving an invasive bacteria have found no direct connection between the victims, according to an epidemiologist with the state health department.

Medical examiner says missing Staunton man died of exposure

LURAY — The medical examiner’s office in Richmond says a Virginia man hunting ginseng in the Shenandoah National Park in October died of exposure.
The body of 49-year-old Earl Funk was found Oct. 13 in the Browns Cove area of Albemarle County. More than 150 people were involved in the search.

Medical examiner: at least 1 dead in Oregon bank explosion

WOODBURN, Ore. (AP) – A bomb exploded inside a bank here late Friday afternoon, killing a police officer who arrived to check on a suspicious object and seriously injuring two others.
A spokesman for the Oregon State Police, Lt. Gregg Hastings, said a Woodburn police officer died. He did not identify him.
He also said the blast seriously injured the Woodburn police chief and a bomb technician with the Oregon State Police.

Medical examiner IDs Ike drowning victim

PORT BOLIVAR — The Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office identified a Port Bolivar man who is presumed to be a victim of Hurricane Ike after fishermen found his body on the north jetty.
