NEW YORK — Cynthia Casey’s husband was in the hospital with a failing liver when she was laid off in September, stranding the family without health insurance.
Medical bills were piling up. She had two teenagers to feed and a weekly unemployment check of less than $300.

A study of 1,900 men published in this month’s Journal of Men’s Health shows that careful follow up after prostate cancer is critical for those who are younger or African-American.
As part of this trial, researchers were looking at prostate cancer and its connection to the Gleason Score and any connection with ethnicity and the score.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Environmentalists are welcoming a report by an independent panel of scientific advisers which found flaws in the government’s assurance that a controversial chemical is safe for use in food containers.

HOPKINS, CO., KY – Kentucky State Police arrested a man after finding drugs and a weapon in his vehicle when they pulled him over for speeding on Thanksgiving day.
Michael Bucy was arrested after a traffic stop on the Pennyrile Parkway when troopers found a handgun in the car. Troopers also say Bucy tried to conceal a bag of Methamphetamine in the back seat of the trooper’s cruiser.
Bucy is being held on $5,000 bond in Hopkins County.
