Family health clinic focuses on homeless

If a patient doesn’t show up for an appointment at London’s newest family health clinic, someone goes looking for them.
“There is an element of care here you wouldn’t find in other places,” said Major Neil Lewis of the Salvation Army.
“If someone misses their medication we go looking for them. If they miss an appointment, often times they have just forgot about it, and we will go track them down,” he said.

New Live Healthy Iowa focuses on total lifestyle

When Lighten Up Iowa began eight years ago, the program’s focus was to help people shed the pounds.
Since then, the goal has expanded to encompass more overall health, said Jim Hallihan, executive director of the Iowa Sports Foundation, which runs the program. That shift meant finding a more appropriate name for the statewide, 100-day, team-based weight loss and physical activity challenge.

YMCA focuses on fitness for every age

The Holiday Trimmings Weight Loss Challenge is going strong with Wichita Falls losing 805 pounds as of the last weigh-in.
Wednesday will be the final weigh-in, and prizes will be distributed to winners.
