Three men have been arrested in a Washington County Narcotics Task Force probe in Forest Lake. Authorities also seized 62 pounds of khat, a leafy controlled substance narcotic, during a joint effort with the Forest Lake Police Department.
The drugs were seized and the arrests were made at 1:40 p.m. on Tuesday at the UPS Store, 2009 W. Broadway Ave. where officers from the two police agencies converged.

WATERBURY, Conn. -
Hospital says it will cut
about 10 percent of its work force, the equivalent of 160 full-time
positions, by the end of September.
The hospital says some jobs will be eliminated by attrition and
leaving vacant spots open, but that an undetermined number of
layoffs also is expected.
It reported an $8.5 million lost for its last budget year,
almost double the $4.3 million loss it absorbed in the previous
fiscal year.

Nov. 29 (Bloomberg) — Brazil’s Air Force is setting up a
hospital to help victims of floods and landslides in the southern
state of Santa Catarina that have killed at least 109 people and
left almost 79,000 homeless in the past week.
The air force is using Hercules aircraft to transport parts

Rodale Inc. said Monday the economic downturn is forcing it to cut costs by shedding 111 positions.
