Guilty plea in Seattle in counterfeit goods case

SEATTLE — The U.S. attorney’s office in Seattle says a former Whidbey Island resident pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court in a scheme to import counterfeit fitness equipment and other goods and sell them on eBay.
The 28-year-old man who now lives in Riverside, Calif., Bryan Polee, faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced May 15 in Seattle.

SEATTLE – A man could face decades behind bars after admitting he stabbed and bludgeoned his parents to death during a drug-fueled rampage in their home.

Thomas Edward Green Jr., 51, of San Jose pleaded guilty to two felony counts Monday in U.S. District Court in San Jose. He is scheduled to be sentenced June 1.
Prosecutors said Green admitted that he sent at least 67 e-mails in 2006 containing images of child pornography, including “sadistic and masochistic conduct,” to people with whom he corresponded in online chat rooms.

LA hospital CEO pleads guilty to health care fraud

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A former Los Angeles hospital CEO has pleaded guilty to two counts of paying for illegal patient referrals in a scheme that billed government programs for unnecessary care given to homeless people.

LOS ANGELES—The owner of a medical equipment company has pleaded guilty in Los Angeles to defrauding Medicare by using a patient’s identification number without the person’s knowledge.
