A 10-MONTH inquiry into the NSW hospital system has found the system to be in crisis and has recommended sweeping changes, including the closure of six emergency departments in Sydney.

Police are trying to establish what happened to a nurse who was found alive in Lanarkshire in the boot of her own car 11 days after she went missing.
Magdeline Makola, 38, is being treated in hospital for minor injuries after being found in Airdrie on Friday.
The nurse, who lives alone about 20 miles away in Livingston, had last been seen finishing a shift on 15 December at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Services at one of England’s leading children’s hospitals are being investigated after complaints from its own consultants.
A review of services at Birmingham Children’s Hospital was commissioned after management meetings in August.
