Evansville hospital loses water after main break

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Deaconess Hospital in Evansville is
without its principal water supply after a break to a city water
main.
The hospital remained open Wednesday, although spokesman San
Rogers says elective surgeries have been canceled and bottled water
is being distributed to its 350 patients. He said no patients have
had to be transferred and that emergency care was available.

Shark attack diver in Australia loses hand

SYDNEY (AFP) — An Australian navy diver who fought off a shark in a rare attack in Sydney Harbour was in high spirits despite losing a hand and facing the prospect of losing a leg, his family said Thursday.

A 20-year-old man working at a San Martin winery lost his right leg after he got caught in a piece of equipment used to drill holes in wine barrels.
Mike Van Loben Sels, battalion chief for the South Santa Clara County Fire Protection District, said the accident was reported at 9:47 p.m. Monday at ASV Wines, 12805 Llagas Road.

Burglary suspect loses police in SD hospital halls

Police believe the man broke into three homes and attempted to burglarize a fourth on Wednesday morning.
Police Captain Walt Vasquez says officers spotted the suspect, a white man who appeared to be about 35 years old, near the University of California, San Diego Medical Center. When police gave chase, he ran into the hospital, darting through its halls and cafeteria.

Conn. doctor facing sex charge in White Plains loses NY medical

WHITE PLAINS – A Connecticut doctor accused of having sexually explicit online conversations with an undercover investigator posing as an underage boy has agreed not to practice medicine in New York state.

Doctor loses license in live birth abortion case
