Seniors exercised Wednesday with a group of clowns — but not for laughs.
They learned about staying fit with circus performers who take physical strength and stamina seriously.
Seventy seniors from the Homestead and South Dade branches of the YMCA of Greater Miami traveled to AmericanAirlines Arena to participate in the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey’s CircusFit program.

Men’s Health magazine says that Salt Lake City is the fittest city in the country, and Miami is the fattest.
The magazine’s rankings, noted in a
, put the Utah city at the top because of its park space, athletically motivated citizens and below-average obesity rates.
Hiking, basketball, yoga, swimming, running and kick boxing are all popular there.
Also, people there watch 23 percent less TV than the national average, the magazine says.
