The DuPage County Sheriff’s Department tactical narcotics team arrested 106 people and seized $5.5 million worth of drugs last year, the department announced.
Most of the drugs were seized at one time when detectives grabbed 33 pounds of cocaine worth $4.5 million and arrested five people at a home in Aurora that police said was a distribution point for large cocaine sales in Kane and DuPage Counties.

More than one million Pennsylvanians, or 8.2 percent of the population, lack health insurance, according to state survey released today.
The survey, conducted by the state Insurance Department, shows a 7.5 increase over 2004, but insurance commissioner Joel Ario said the numbers are likely much higher now considering the employment situation has recently deteriorated.

CANYON LAKE —- An early morning blaze Friday caused an estimated $1 million damage to the Canyon Lake Fitness Center, officials said.
David Garcia, who has owned the popular facility since 1997, said after surveying the damage Friday afternoon that he hopes to reopen around the first of the year.
