USFDA Finds 'Natural' Diet Pills Spiked With Drugs

If a weight-loss supplement does contain an undeclared active
pharmaceutical, the F.D.A. considers the product to be an illegal,
unapproved drug. Doctors said undeclared drugs could cause problems on
their own, like elevated blood pressure or seizures, could have toxic interactions with other medications people take and

FDA Clears Natural Sweetener Stevia

The Food and Drug Administration has declared a natural zero-calorie sweetener derived from the herb stevia as safe for use in foods in beverages, clearing a path for Coca-Cola Co., PepsiCo Inc. and other companies to market it in a variety of products.
