CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson cleared another hurdle in his recovery from a heart transplant Thursday when he was released from the hospital, 12 days after the surgery.

Police: Pa. shelter owner sold cat food for drugs
PINE GROVE, Pa. (AP) — A woman stockpiled cat food donated to her purported animal sanctuary and resold some of it, leaving dozens of animals to go hungry, to finance a drug habit, police said.
Virginia Kresge Justiniano, who had run the Cats With No Name sanctuary since 1996, was charged with drug possession after being stopped for a traffic violation Saturday.

— A Hicksville Magic shop owner is under arrest after Narcotics detectives discovered he was selling cocaine and marijuana at the store.
Nassau County Police say 58-year-old Philip Piacentini was charged with five felony drug charges.

The operator of Community Hospital of Los Gatos, Tenet Healthcare, announced Thursday it will close the hospital and emergency room on April 10, six weeks before the new owner takes over.
The news came as a surprise because Tenet was expected to continue operations until its lease expires on May 31. El Camino Hospital of Mountain View plans to takeover Community’s operations on June 1.
