FDA To Face Public Upbraiding Over Ingredient In Plastic

-(Dow Jones)- Critics plan to accuse the Food and Drug
Administration next week of ignoring scientific warnings about health risks of a

Toxic Chemicals Can Leach from Plastic Bottles

Sacramento Ranks 3rd In Nation For Plastic Surgery

The River City appears to be a cut above the rest…when it comes to plastic surgery.
Men’s Health Magazine ranks Sacramento as third in the nation for cosmetic procedures.
The magazine survey asked surgeons how many procedures they perform-and Sacramento was near the top.  Only San Francisco and Honolulu were higher.

FDA defends plastic linked with health risks

WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal regulators on Tuesday defended their assessment that
a chemical widely used in plastic baby bottles and in food
packaging is safe, even as the first major study of health

FDA Defends Plastic Linked To Health Risks

Where is BPA found?
The National Toxicology Program says the main source of human exposure to bisphenol A, or BPA, is the tiny amounts that leach from Nalgene-type polycarbonate water bottles and from metal cans — that could include canned vegetables and fruits — lined with an epoxy resin that contains BPA. The chemical is also found in baby bottles, tableware and food storage containers.

US lawmakers to probe FDA plastic panel's chairman

WASHINGTON – U.S. lawmakers said Tuesday they will look into a possible conflict of interest involving the head of a panel advising the government on the safety of a chemical used in many baby bottles and other plastic products.

Bogus Plastic Surgeon Arrested At Med Spa

– Police arrest a man working as a plastic surgeon without a medical license.
Carlos Delgado, 25, was taken into custody after a raid Thursday on the Radiant Med Spa on Cranes Roost Boulevard.
Police said they started getting complaints Delgado didn’t have a medical license after the spa opened up in June.
They said he performed things like tummy tucks, laser surgery, and Botox injections.
