US hospital: Kennedy awake, answering questions

WASHINGTON, Jan 20 (Reuters) – Ailing Sen. Edward Kennedy
is awake, is answering questions and is being assessed, a
spokeswoman at Washington Hospital Center said on Tuesday.
The Massachusetts Democrat was taken to the hospital after
senators said he suffered convulsions during a luncheon
honoring newly inaugurated President Barack Obama.
