NY AG: Health insurer agrees to shun rate database

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo says health insurer Cigna Corp. is joining a nationwide push to reform how health care reimbursement rates are set.

Heart Rate Predicts Women's Heart Risk

Feb. 3, 2009 — A woman’s heart rate taken when at rest is a good predictor of her heart attack risk, a new study shows.
Regardless of other risk factors for heart attack, such as smoking and alcohol consumption, researchers say they’ve found that a simple pulse rate measurement can predict risk of coronary events in postmenopausal women.

N.Y. prevails over Amazon in suit
New York state has won a round in court against Amazon.com Inc. over a new law that requires out-of-state online companies to collect sales tax from shoppers in New York.

Chandler nursing homes rate higher

Chandler’s four nursing homes are rated better than most in Arizona, according to a new star-rating system by federal regulators.
The city’s average of 3.5 stars topped the statewide score of 2.85 and the national score of 2.81.
Chandler also was one of the few cities with a nursing home that received a perfect 5-star rating. That score went to Park Regency Care Center at 2555 N. Price Road.
