Ritter praises new health records system

Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter on Tuesday hailed what he called an “innovative effort” to streamline electronic health information flow between hospitals and health care providers, and said the system could provide a model for improving how the data is shared nationwide.

Records show gaps in child welfare oversight before Jazzmin's death

The child welfare worker overseeing an Antioch foster child who police say was tortured for 15 months and starved to death by her foster mother violated state regulations that require regular reports from doctors, therapists and others.

New state law bars abusers from getting kids' medical records

SPRINGFIELD – Chapin Rose said he marvels at what some abusers will do to find loved ones in order to hurt them.
That’s why the state representative introduced legislation that became law last week that prohibits an abuser named in an order of protection from getting access to his children’s medical records.
The bill sprang from a case that was brought to his attention last fall by a domestic violence advocate.

Tenet Healthcare records Q3 profit
