Swayze released from LA hospital

Actor Patrick Swayze has been released from hospital one week after checking himself in with pneumonia, his publicist has confirmed.
Annett Wolf would not elaborate on the Dirty Dancing star’s condition, but said he was “well enough to have been released”, and was resting at home.
The 56-year-old has been battling pancreatic cancer for the last year.
Last week, he told TV interviewer Barbara Walters that he may only survive two years.

Fumo improved, to be released from hospital

Former state Sen. Vincent J. Fumo was upgraded to good condition this morning and is expected to be discharged from Hahnemann University Hospital this afternoon, according to a hospital spokesman.
Fumo is on trial in federal court on multiple corruption charges. On Thursday afternoon, he suddenly became pale, nauseated and dizzy. The trial was abruptly suspended and Fumo was taken to the hospital by paramedics.

Panthers owner Richardson released from hospital

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson has been released from the hospital 12 days after undergoing a heart transplant.
Richardson left Carolinas Medical Center on Thursday after quickly regaining his strength following the surgery on Feb. 1. A team spokesman said Richardson has responded well and will continue to be monitored by doctors.

HIV-infected Texans released from prison aren't getting medicine

Most HIV-infected Texas prison inmates don’t fill their medical prescriptions once they’re released into the community, according to a new study by researchers at the University of Texas Medical Branch and Baylor College of Medicine.

A 16-year-old girl was being released from Madigan Army Medical Center today, after she was admitted early Sunday when she was found unconscious in a Fort Lewis barracks, a hospital spokesperson said this afternoon.

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy has been released from the hospital after suffering a seizure during an inaugural luncheon.
Sen. Kennedy’s office confirmed that on Wednesday morning he left Washington Hospital Center, where the 76-year-old had been resting overnight for observation. A spokeswoman said he was in good spirits and doctors wanted him to get some rest.

Man released from hospital after stabbing on Manfre Road

FREEDOM – A Watsonville man in his 40s was stabbed three times early today while leaving a holiday party on Manfre Road, according to authorities.

MONTREAL — An animal rights group says a vegetarian diet could be just the ticket to keeping obese cons behind bars.
