2007 hero for saving baby arrested for drugs in Salem

SALEM – A raid was conducted Monday afternoon at the home
of a city man who heroically saved the life of a young child
a year ago this month. He was arrested on various drug
charges.
Once lauded by county freeholders for rescuing a 3-month-old
boy from the window of a burning building, 32-year-old Terry
Mercado was charged by authorities Monday for possession and
distribution of cocaine as well as for possession of drug
paraphernalia.

Salem hospital in talks with Indy's St. Vincent Hospital

in Salem, Ind., is in talks with Indianapolis-based
Health about becoming a St. Vincent affiliate hospital.

Salem Fitness Trail Opens to the Public

The Salem Fitness Nature Trail is now open to the public.

Medical Students Open Free Clinic In Winston-Salem

Winston-Salem, NC– Students from the Wake Forest University School of Medicine will open a free evening medical clinic.

Oak Harbor Schools and Benton-Carroll-Salem Community Education program will sponsor many fitness classes this winter.
