Two people have been arrested after drugs worth thousands of pounds were seized in Aberdeen.
Crack cocaine with a street value of about £14,000 was recovered by police in the Torry area.
A 44-year-old local woman and a 37-year-old man from Birmingham were detained.
A Grampian Police spokesperson said they were expected to appear from custody at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
The DuPage County Sheriff’s Department tactical narcotics team arrested 106 people and seized $5.5 million worth of drugs last year, the department announced.
Most of the drugs were seized at one time when detectives grabbed 33 pounds of cocaine worth $4.5 million and arrested five people at a home in Aurora that police said was a distribution point for large cocaine sales in Kane and DuPage Counties.

SWAT teams swept across Denver Tuesday seizing drugs, weapons and arresting more than a half-dozen men police said are members of a notorious gang.
The bust focused on a notoriously violent gang known as MS-13. The FBI said MS-13 operates with a mob mentality, dealing drugs and retaliating against anyone who crosses them.

THE VALUE of illicit drugs seized by garda last year exceeded €200 million. The total value of main drug types seized last year was €212.3 million, compared with €167.5 million in 2007.
The seizures in both years are well ahead of trends in the previous five years, when drugs valued at between €80 million and just over €100 million were seized annually.

CHAMPLAIN, N.Y. (AP) – Border guards in northern New York have seized 30 pounds of marijuana and arrested a Canadian man they say was trying to smuggle it into the country.

Drugs with an estimated street value of £14,000 have been seized during a search of a property in Douglas.
The substance, which is believed to be cocaine, was found by officers from the Isle of Man’s drug trafficking unit on Saturday night.
They also seized cannabis resin worth an estimated £300.
Two men, from Douglas, have been arrested on suspicion of drug offences and are currently assisting officers with their inquiries, police said.
