Coroner: Teacher had drugs in system

GARY — A toxicology report completed Thursday shows a Merrillville teacher had cocaine in her system when she and her son died in a crash that left her older boy critically injured two weeks ago.
Pierce Middle School teacher Merilyn Bouler, 39, of Crown Point had ingested a “small amount” of cocaine that night, a spokesman for the Lake County coroner said.

Joette Gulbis knows the importance of physical fitness. She integrates it into her social studies classroom at West Ottawa’s Macatawa Bay Middle School and at the Saugatuck Public Schools weight and aerobic room at Saugatuck Middle/High School.

HISD: Drugs Found In Teacher's Car At School

JACINTO CITY, Texas –
A teacher was arrested after drugs were found in her car parked at an elementary school, officials told KPRC Local 2 Thursday.
Houston Independent School District officials said police got a tip that someone was smoking marijuana in the teachers’ parking lot at Whittier Elementary School.

Awards surprise, honor NC health teacher

North Central High School teacher Barbi Kern was named the state’s Health Educator of the Year by the Indiana Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
The 32-year-old Zionsville resident, who’s the former North Central gymnastics coach, also garnered the Midwest Health Educator of the Year award.
