McCain’s tax credit, she said, would offset income tax hikes for all but the wealthiest Americans, making it possible for more uninsured people to buy coverage.
But McCain’s idea is stirring little enthusiasm among the country’s leading business groups.

PARIS (AFP) — French filmmaker Claude Berri, best known internationally for producing Roman Polanski’s Oscar-winning film “Tess”, is in a “very serious neurologial condition”, a Paris hospital said Sunday.
Berri, 74, was admitted to the Salpetriere hospital’s neurological service overnight with what doctors said was a blood clot in his brain and was in an intensive care unit Sunday.
